One of our specialities is creating new and different soaps — using
interesting moulds,special ingredients, and lots of creativity. Our creations
are truly one-of-a-kind. There are no others on the market exactly like
them because we use our very own recipes. Sure, others may use the same
mould, but no one else uses the same ingredients in the same proportions,
nor the same vitamins and botanicals.
100% hand crafted i n small batches to ensure freshness and
quality, all our soaps contain glycerine, a natural moisturiser created
during the soap making process. We never take any of it out. Most
commercial soaps are detergent based and have their glycerin removed
and then sold as a by-product for lotions and creams. That is why your
skin will often feel tight and dry. In our Scent ChickS soaps you will find
NO detergents, NO rendered animal fat, NO artificial preservatives It is
more than likely that other soap artisans do not remove the glycerin
either, so their products will be quite moisturising also. BUT, and that is
the great BUT, they probably do not add all the extra ingredients we do to

| What Goes Into Our Soaps |
We use only top quality ingredients, either following recipes we
have developed ourselves or old-fashioned tried and true recipes
to which we have added our particular touch. That is why
you will find the finest quality oils, such as coconut and palm
oils to produce big bubbles, Castor and olive oils to bring richness to the
lather in our soaps, jojoba oil to add extra moisturising and age-defying
properties; we have also added luxurious and nutrient butters such as
Shea, mango and/ or cocoa butter to enrich them even more and make
them even longer lasting and keep you coming back for more. Plus, we add
vitamin E to almost everyone of our products simply because it is good for
the skin, ensures freshness and is a natural preservative. Actually, the
specific properties of the soap, such as its lather, hardness, cleansing
ability and its feel depend a lot upon the various oils and butters used.
That is why we use different ones in different soaps to take advantage of
the best properties of each ingredient to produce a luxury bar of soap that
will answer to exactly what you want.
Our handmade soaps try to be small works of art. Not only do they clean
and moisturise, they even boast to containing ingredients that have the
reputation of being beneficial and therapeutic for some skin conditions, not
that we claim that they do.
We incorporate pure crushed herbs, spices, and flowers into certain of
our soaps because of their recognised healing or restorative properties.
The pure essential oils we use in most of our soaps are all aromatherapy
quality.Actually, we do sometimes, but only very rarely, use fragrance oils
because some scents are not available in essential oils or are much too
expensive and we want to offer you top quality products at easily
affordable prices.
We've been told that our soaps are luxurious; they are. And that's
exactly what we are aiming for because everyone deserves a little bit of
luxury. And with Scent ChickS soaps,as with all our products, lots of luxury
comes at a very little price! We want our customers to be delighted

each soap has its own individuality. We have toyed with the idea of making
our soaps in a large slab as so many others do, and then cutting them
either into rectangles or squares, but we have decided against it although,
if truth be told, it would be much faster and easier that way. Cheaper too!
But, if you've read our story, you know that we do this for pleasure.We
like nice things ourselves. We don't take many shortcuts in our own life.
Why we still make our cakes and pie crusts from scratch (O.K. now and
then, we'll buy something store made, but rarely).So we truly enjoy making
beautiful products. Our soaps are some of them.
Colour appeals to many people. That is why we have used Mother
Earth's own herbs, spices, mineral and clays as the ingredients
to tint most of our soaps. Of course, we have always used a very
light hand. Although we do try to achieve consistency, it isn't
always possible. Nature rarely repeats itself. To other of our soaps we
have added cosmetic grade colourants, but then, only sparingly. If you
prefer your soap without any colourant, just let us know. The same goes for
scents. That's why we are working on adding to our "Non-Scents" collection
because many of you have asked for more. So you have a choice. It's up
to you. We have also tried to choose moulds that we find best adapted to
each particular soap. Some are plain, some are fancy, some are funky,
some are sophisticated. All are attractive. All our ingredients are
hand-stirred and every bar is cured
You're going to love the moisture rich, clean rinsing lather, and fragrances
that will awaken your senses. Because our soap is handmade, batches can,
and do,vary a little in the colour they turn out and in the fragrance even
though we have followed the same recipe. But all will be very close. And
they will always be great!
We also try to develop new soaps for each season or occasion such as
Christmas, Valentine's Day, weddings and children's birth. And, due to
demand, we have just recently children's soaps to our line. Each of our
soaps is individually hand wrapped for two reasons. Firstly, we are clean
freaks and want you to know that your soap has not been handled by other
customers. It's a question of hygiene. And secondly, we know what a rush
most of us are in. So we have wrapped our soaps attractively in a
cellophane bag so that you can offer them, as is, without any
additional wrapping. We even tie them with a ribbon or a bow
and affix a tag containing the ingredients. You see, we want the
soaps you buy to be a delight to look at as well as a delight to use. And
we've found out, over time, that many of our customers are proud to offer
our soaps as gifts. But since you deserve a great product as much as your
friends and family, we want each bar to be nice enough FOR YOU!

we will change with the seasons. If you purchase one and don't see it when
you decide to order more, just call or send us an e-mail. If we can, we
will make a batch and you can just purchase the amount you want,sometimes
with a minimum of three or four depending upon the complexity.
