Our Silken Bath Leaves "Just for Me!"
We have a friend from France, now living in Canada, who absolutely adores our silken soap petals and keeps requesting more for her mother and her friends every time she returns to France for a visit. One day, while talking to us, she said that autumn was so beautiful here, it was a pity we didn't have any silken fall leaves so that she could bring some back to her friends in France.
After a search and discover mission, we did find some silken maple leaves, but they were large. Very large! But beautiful! What to do? We decided to try them out just the same. We dipped them into our glycerin soap base, added softening almond oil, olive oil and pure essences. They turned out just plain gorgeous.multi hueds of the soap brought out the warm rusts, the vibrant reds, the golden yellows, the shimmering russets, the pulsing purples of the leaves. They reminded us of our glorious fall with its multi hued trees. We put one of these leaves into the bath to try it out. It was the absolutely right size to rub over all one's body. It floated in the tub and was easy to handle. Its lather had just the right amount of froth. We fell in love. Our friend was thrilled. She was able to bring a very distinct gift back with her, one that couldn't be found anywhere else. Plus, these leaves were perfect for a long, lingering soak
And they felt and smelled great rubbed over the body during a shower. Our friend then thought she would give some to her brother-in-law. They were a hit with him. We made a set to give a friends who had us over for dinner. She called us up to order some for a friend. So we decided to add them to our line of "fine toiletries" as someone put it. Although we try hard to keep some on hand, we regret that these large leaves are not always available. Just contact us and we'll tell you if we have any in stock. If so,we'll be pleased to make you some. If not, you may love some of our other leaves just as well. They are as equally attractive.
Since silken maple leaves are not always available, we decided to "branch out" in a manner of speaking. We came upon some beautiful grape leaves that reminded us of vineyards in Italy and trellises over tiny bistros in France. Even one in Pat's back yard. We dip these large leaves in glycerine, almond and olive oils and scent them with our own special secret blend of essences remindful of the mix of fruity and floral bouquet in some of Italy's wines. Chianti anyone?

Begonia leaves are our latest offering in this collection. Since begonias have very little odour of their own, we do play a little here. Sometimes, we add a slight lemony fragrance, sometimes bergamot, and often, our very own favourite, geranium. We scent these leaves according to our particular feelings on the day we prepare them. If these interest you, we will be pleased to scent them according to your mood. Who knows? You may give us the best suggestion ever. Contact us please to tell us your preference.
