French Green Clay
Nature's Own Hemp Soaps
Centuries ago our  ancestors knew
of the healing powers of clay;
along with plants, herbs & other
natural substances,clay was
considered  vital to ancient man in
the absence of modern medicine.

Hemp seed oil  is high in protein and contains essential
fatty acids that are known to repair and replenish skin
lipids which are like the brick and mortar that support
the wall structure of our skin cells.  It also contains
natural anti-bacterial properties. Non-drying, it is
helpful  in maintaining smooth, supple  skin.Better yet,
hemp seed oil is said to be anti-aging. So why not join
both ingredients together to produce a great soap bar?

Now this is a real fun soap, a happy soap.
It seems to catch everyone’s eye. They
smile, pick up the sample, smell it, and fall
immediately in love with it. We package
these soaps in pairs because they
represent musical frogs. When we were
younger, our dad used to sing “A Frog he
would a’wooing go” to us, so we thought
Frogs A'Wooin'
Hemp oil is  a wonderful heal all and is great for damaged skin because
it contains a high content of  protein and linoleic  (an unsaturated
omega-6) fatty acid. Its similarity to our own essential fatty acid (EFA)
makeup helps it penetrate easily into the skin and allows for deep,
non-greasy hydration. Soaps made with hemp oil work out deep embedded
dirt fast and leave the skin moisturised.  We highly recommend this to
people who need to wash their hands  a lot.  We love using this
wonderful and rejuvenating oil in our soaps because in cosmetic testing it
has been shown to play a preventive role in the skin ageing process.

Now, even if you don't know all this about hemp soap, that's not
important. What matters is that our hemp soaps are great working,
great feeling, great smelling soaps. We love them and hope you'll love
them too.

We are now experimenting with another recipe using this soap. Keep
posted.
Since the Scent ChickS do have links to the world of
science and medicine we wanted to use clay in a soap
because we know that it stimulates circulation, removes
dead skin cells, absorbs impurities & fats and tones &
strengthens connective tissues to leave skin smooth,
fresh & radiant. Plus it's a great cleanser. We decided
to make it in soaps with other traditional natural
ingredients.
Then modern medicine took over and people began to use more chemical
products. They forgot about clay. However, now with holistic science
becoming more and more appreciated, the benefits of clay are being
rediscovered.
Of course, while we are at it, we add patchouli essential
oil mostly  for its warm, earthy fragrance although
patchouli in and of itself is both aphrodisiac and
astringent.

Patchouli was placed between Indian cashmere shawls en
route to Victorian England, to protect the merchandise
from moths;  without this signature smell of dried
patchouli leaves the shawls could not be sold in England.
So patchouli can also be considered a comfort smell.
No added colourant. This soap is actually a lovely green.  It's sometimes
darker, sometimes lighter depending on the green French clay that we
use. Also we add oatmeal for extra texture and exfoliation.

A favourite among men.  Also loved by many clients for its  rich and light
but,at the same time, heady fragrance. And for those who remember
Woodstock, well, it's a great reminder of peace and love. Sometimes, we
even make it in a peace and love mould, sometimes in a Japanese  peace
calligraphic mould. Contact us to see what is available or to tell us your
preference.

Ingredients: hemp seed oil, French green clay,  oatmeal, patchouli essential oil

We have added avocado oil to this soap because not only does it soothe
the  skin,it helps transport the naturally high concentrations of Vitamins
A, D and E it contains into the skin.
Of course, if you don't like frogs we can always make it for you in a
plainer mould.

Ingredients: hemp seed oil, avocado oil, Shea butter,  myrrh, amber, jasmine,
patchouli, rose

that would be the most appropriate name for this soap that has a light
but heady scent for which we invented the recipe. This soap  has many
repeat customers  who love its scent and find that it’s very refreshing.
