Our Kiddies' Kuties

We started making these soaps after one of our clients asked us    to
make a few  different ones for her kids. The commercial soaps which were
pure weren't any fun and the cute ones were too harsh. She wanted soaps
that were both  fun and mild  and asked us to make her some, giving us a
few ideas along the line. So we made up a few prototypes. When we
started showing them to our friends who had kids and grand kids they
asked us to let them try out  on a trial basis. So we did. And  they told
us they were completely satisfied  and should add them to our line, RIGHT
NOW.

Their reasoning?  Our soaps  had passed the absolutely best test of
all......
THEY DELIGHTED THE KIDS WHO RECEIVED  THEM. THE KIDS
USED THEM and WASHED THEMSELVES WITH THEM WITHOUT
FUSSING. THEN THEY ASKED FOR MORE.

.
Well, our "bug" soaps are exactly that. We place a horrible looking plastic
bug in an olive oil base soap to which we add a very slight scent plus jojoba
oil and Vitamin E for extra soothing qualities. The kids see the bug and
find it adorable. They want to wash and wash until they can catch it. So
parents are happy because their kids have washed. We did make some
similar soaps with "girlie goodies" and do so ever so often but, truth to
tell, the girls like the bugs as much as the boys. AND, BELIEVE IT OR
NOT!  gals buy theses soaps for their boyfriends or husbands. After all,
they are pure and mild (the soaps, not necessarily the guys! )

Patchy Bear  & Patchy Bunny
Some kids couldn't seem to get enough of our bears and bunnies. They
became their toys. So their parents asked us if it was possible to make
some similar soaps with other animals. One thing is very important. The
animals must be easily washable and must be safe, i.e. they  mustn't have
removable eyes, etc. Plus they must be extra soft.

We are mothers and grandmothers so we know how important it is to be
prudent. Finally we did find some other plush animals: an alligator, a hippo,
 an elephant and a sate (or is it a lion)? At least that's what they look
like to us. However, that's not important. Kids love their bright colours
and their easy handling. We call
the blue one, FanFan the elephant;
the green one, Croc the alligator simply because Pat & Joce cannot agree
on whether he is an alligator or a crocodile;
the yellow one, Kato, because, once again, we cannot agree whether he is
a cat or a lion;
the pink one,  Hip Hippy , because she's such a hip hippo.

Of course they are covered in mild glycerin or olive oil based soap with
extra jojoba oil and vitamin E plus a smidgen of baby soft fragrance.

Yes, we did. We  gave in to your requests  to  start producing a line of
children's soaps although we wanted to wait until we felt that they met
with our complete approval. They are still not totally  satisfac
tory to us.
(O.K. so we definitely ARE fussy and really don't find ALL  bugs
attractive.) However, kids, our best critics, just LOVE them.

Sadly, we're all out of Patchy Bear & Patch Bunny. We'll keep on being on
the lookout for more  and will keep you updated about search. They were so
popular that we purchased all we could from our supplier until no more were
available. But we keep on hoping and bugging......O.K. that's a play on
words. We do still have bug soap .
In spring 2007, just in time for Easter, we added Patchy Bunny  Poor
Patchy Bunny is covered all over with patches just like friend Patchy Bear.
Both turned out to be so popular that we keep on making both.  You have
your choice.
