Our Olive Oil Soaps |
This is one of our most refreshing soaps because of the peppermint oil it contains in addition to the olive oil. This cooling and refreshing peppermint essential oil is used in aromatherapy to stimulate the mind, increase mental agility and to increase focus, while cooling the skin, reducing redness and calming irritation and itchiness. We just had to make a soap containing this.

Our absolutely purest, "Non Scents"soap. This is our version of Castile soap, also known as "savon de Marseille" one of the oldest and purest traditions in soap-making. Naturally retains water. Ultra moisturising and gentle. Totally pure. No colourant, no fragrance. Its pale light yellow or greenish colour is due strictly to the colour of the first cold pressed olive oil it contains.
Then to make it even more soothing we have added tea tree oil and eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is said to have a cooling effect upon the emotions and to help in concentration (We should have used more when we were studying math). Plus it is antibacterial. Both peppermint and eucalyptus have a very slight menthol smell which seems to please and satisfy many of our customers. We have tinted this soap with a natural dye to make it a very pale heavenly blue as a gentle reminder that it just may be a tiny glimpse of paradise We have added peppermint leaves because many of our customers prefer soaps that contain leaves that they perceive to be beneficial That's the case with peppermint leaves. However, when we add these, this soap has a tendency to become slightly more aqua over time. The leaves give it a slightly more greenish hue which is actually also very pretty. That's what happens when one uses natural products. Ingredients: olive oil soap base, peppermint, eucalyptus and tea tree essential oils, peppermint leaves, colourant
we want to sell only the freshest, we make only a very small amount at a time. So the olive oil which we use in the base may not always come from the same origin which accounts for the difference in shading. Only first cold pressed virgin olive oil is used. Safe even for babies. Because olive oil picks up so much water from the ambient air, it is more than likely it will become more opaque over time. That simply means it contains even more moisture. Or that we made it too long lasting and you haven't had time to use it up. Since some people do not like to see the soap become opaque, we offer the exact same pure soap with added Shea butter. Shea butter nourishes the skin with Vitamins A, E and F. Vitamins A and E help maintain the skin and keep it clear and healthy whereas Vitamin F acts as a skin protector which soothes rough, dry or chapped skin. So it's only more goodness that we add. But it does make the soap opaque from the get go. We used to make this soap in various Celtic moulds but have now changed. Still we thought you would like to know what it looks like. We think it even looks prettier now. Ingredients: olive oil base, aloe vera, Vitamin E, (and Shea butter on special order)
