One of our friends received a reed diffuser as a gift last year. She
absolutely loved it. She thought it would be perfect for her office,
and she thought that it would be freshen up her mother's room in a
retirement home. She also wanted one for her entrance hall thinking it
would make her guests feel welcome SHOCK! They were too expensive
for her to be able to afford more than one or two.
She mentioned this to Pat and said "It's too bad you
chicks don't offer reed diffusers. We'd be sure of
the quality and, if it's like all your other stuff, the
price would be great so I'd be able to have one in my
living room, one in my foyer, one in my kitchen, one in my office, and a
couple to give to Mom". That conversation didn't fall into deaf ears. Pat
started looking into it. And did she ever look!
Pat realised immediately that reed diffusers are a very ingenious way
to scent every room of your home; they can transform your personal
space with aromas that are not overpowering and are mild enough for
those who are sensitive to strong smells. They are a safe, pleasant and
natural alternative to plug-ins and air sprays. Unlike candles, and
incense, they do not constitute a fire risk but, like scented candles
and incense, they can be used for aromatherapy and mood
enhancement. They can also be used where candles are not allowed
such a offices, hospital rooms and dorms.
An added bonus is the fact that they add beauty and a touch of "je ne
sais quoi" to your home decor Reed diffusers also add a comforting and
welcoming "feel" to every room. While subtly gracing your decor visually
they can affect your mood by, for example, alleviating fatigue,
reducing anxiety, promoting relaxation, inspiring romance depending upon
the fragrance. Since even mild scents trigger emotions, reed diffusers
can create an environment of feelings that changes from one space to
another.
Our diffusers are easy to maintain and can last as long as several
months. Each room can have its own signature and unique fragrance
without overtaking or affecting the next room.
How do these diffusers work?.The fragrance in the bottle seeps into
the extremely porous reeds and evaporates into the air filling the room
with a gentle scent. There are two kinds of sticks that can be found in
commercial diffusers: rattan and bamboo. Both are good. But bamboo
is basically wood whereas rattan is a reed .So we decided upon rattan
reeds because of their particular structure which allows for faster
wicking and the best possible diffusion into the air.
What happens when the reeds don't seem to be working anymore? Well,
when you feel they no longer diffuse the aromas into the air as they
did, simply flip the reeds over and place the "dry" side of the reeds in
the oil -filled bottle and the saturated or "wet" end in the air. The
diffuser oil will then continue to evaporate into the air, continuing to
diffuse its subtle scent. To refresh the fragrance, simply repeat the
above steps every fortnight or so. Please flip diffuser reed sticks over
a paper towel so no oil drips onto your table or desk surface.

lilac and lavender. And, most important of all, we had to find the
correct formula for our oils so that they would wick up and
diffuse satisfactorily.

| Diffuser oils are meant to stand up and to be touched as little as possible. If there are kids or pets around, please keep the diffusers high and out of their reach. Also, like anything that contains oil, spilled diffusers can damage table surfaces. We suggest your placing a saucer under the diffuser. This may sound like overkill but please do remember that diffuser oils should not be ingested. |
